Kazuma is a cold and brash young man. Even so, he doesn't want to see people get hurt, but still does what ever is necessary to, as he says, get by in the world.

After joining the Vanguard Club, he becomes more open and slightly more lively.

GV - Beginning[]

Kazuma was first seen when he bumped into Chrono in the school hallway. He was then seen again when he bumped into Luna in the same hallway.

He was shown to be the supposed leader of a gang of thugs. After Luna walked into the building, following Kazuma, she was apprehended by the thugs who then wanted to do horrible things to her, and would have if Kazuma didn't step in and stop them.

Later, Chrono arrived to save Luna to which Kazuma willingly let her go. In exchange, he challenged Chrono to a fight so he could see his clan in action. During the fight, Kazuma was pushed against the wall and promptly quit before Chrono could deal the final blow. Chrono tried to stop him telling him that the fight wasn't over yet and even showed him a Heal Trigger on top of his deck. Kazuma then got mad at Chrono for touching his cards and stormed out of the building.
